We recently announced the start of an 18-month project to better understand who received which COVID-19 vaccine booster doses, when they were received, and what impacts this has had on severe illness and death.
We’re looking for people to join an advisory group to help us with this project.
We want to find answers to questions like:
- does the length of time between different vaccine doses affect how well the vaccination works?
- what about the different types of vaccine?
- how does the patient’s age or ethnicity make a difference?
Working alongside the project team, your involvement will support future decisions about not just who gets vaccinated but when and with what type of vaccine. In this way we can better prevent illness due to COVID-19. Finding out the best way to use vaccines will also improve our preparedness for this and future pandemics.
You could be one of our advisors
- It’s a small commitment - just a few hours, over 18 months of research time
- We’ll pay £25/hour for your time
- In some circumstances, we can cover extra expenses like childcare, to help you take part
- In return, you’ll be helping us make sure that the research we’re doing reflects the experiences and perspectives of real people
All our meetings will happen online, so you won’t have to travel anywhere. We might ask you to read some documents before or after some of the meetings, but they won’t be very long or technical.
We want a good mix of people
We’re looking for group members of all different ages, locations and backgrounds.
We are especially interested in finding some people from groups that qualify for recent booster doses - so, people over 65 years old, or people with a health condition that puts them at higher risk of severe COVID-19.
That said: anyone can apply.
It doesn’t matter if you have or have not been vaccinated, or if you have or haven’t actually had COVID.
You don’t have to have any specialist medical or technical knowledge. We’ll guide you through the process. We’re looking for experiences, not expertise.
How to take part
- It’s 7 questions long
- It will only take a few minutes to fill out
- We’ll be in touch if your application is successful
